PEACOCK BASS FISHING
REPORTS
October 31st - November 2nd, 2009
Fishing has been good. In only 3 days, a total of 1465 fish were landed by 27 anglers, 43 of which were in the 10 - 16 lbs. class and 4 in the 17-19 lbs. class.
WATER LEVELS AT OUR OTHER FISHERIES:

South: (Marmelos Indian Reservation) Water levels were perfect during July-August and, are now high which is normal for this time of the year.
- Mid-South: (Igoapaçú Indian Reservation) Water levels are perfect which is normal this time of the year.

Mid-North: (above the waterfalls of the Unini Preserve and South
Negro tributaries) With the exception of the upper Caures, water levels at the headwaters of these Negro tributaries are still good, which is normal for this time of the year. Historically, water levels should be fishable until Dec 15th.
- North: (North Negro tributaries) Water levels at all North Negro tributaries continue to be surprisingly low for this time of the year with some of the best fishing in the last 3 years right on the main Negro channel!!. However, last weeks’ excellent fishing has dropped a little due to slightly rising water levels. Water levels are usually good only from Nov 15th to Mar 15th but, this year it started early in late September.

North-East: (Roraima State) Some of Río Branco tributaries water levels (Preserves: Taperá, Xeurini, Omero, Shufari) are perfect which is also unusual this time of the year. Water levels are usually good only from Nov 15th to Mar 15th.

October 24th - October 26th, 2009
Fishing has been excellent. In only 3 days, a total of 1952 fish were landed by 35 anglers, 117 of which were in the 10 - 16 lbs. class, 12 in the 17-19 lbs. class, 3 in the 20-22 lbs. class and 1 in the 23 lbs. class.
WATER LEVELS AT OUR OTHER FISHERIES:

South: (Marmelos Indian Reservation) Water levels were perfect during July-August and, are now high which is normal for this time of the year.
- Mid-South: (Igoapaçú Indian Reservation) Water levels are perfect which is normal this time of the year.

October 17th - October 19th, 2009
Fishing has been excellent in terms of number of fish and the size
will increase as Fly-In Cabins navigate towards headwaters. In only 3
days, a total of 2115fish were landed by 42 anglers, 131 of which were
in the 10 - 16 lbs. class, 9 in the 17-19 lbs. class and 3 in the 20-22
lbs. class.
WATER LEVELS AT OUR OTHER FISHERIES:

South: (Marmelos Indian Reservation) Water levels were
perfect during Juy-August and, are now high which is normal for this time
of the year.
- Mid-South: (Igoapaçú Indian Reservation) Water levels
are perfect which is normal this time of the year.

Mid-North: (above the waterfalls of the Unini Preserve and South
Negro tributaries) Water levels
at the headwaters of these Negro tributaries are good, which is normal for this
time of the year. Historically, water levels should be fishable until Dec

Fishing on the Caures has been very good and, the Xeurini Preserve is excellent except for yesterday which rained 4’’. In only 3 days, a total of 1080 fish were landed by 14 anglers, 50 of which were in the 10 - 16 lbs. class, 16 in the 17-19 lbs. class and 2 in the 20-22 lbs. class.
WATER LEVELS AT OUR OTHER FISHERIES:

South: (Marmelos Indian Reservation) Water levels are high which is normal for this time of the year.
- Mid-South: (Igoapaçú Indian Reservation) Water levels are perfect which is normal this time of the year.

Negro tributaries) Water levels at the headwaters of some of these Negro tributaries are good. Water levels should be optimal from Oct 15th to Dec 15th.
- North: (North Negro tributaries) Water levels at all North Negro tributaries continue to be surprisingly low for this time of the year with some of the best fishing in the last 3 years!! Many sport fishing yachts are beginning not to be able to navigate outside of the main Negro channels limiting anglers to a small radius. However, this could change due to yesterday’s heavy rainfall. Water levels are usually good only from Nov 15th to Mar 15th.

Fishing on the Caures and the Xeurini Preserve has been very good.
In only 3 days, a total of 1254 fish were landed by 20 anglers, 66 of
which were in the 10 - 16 lbs. class, 14 in the 17-19 lbs. class and
3 in the 20-22 lbs. class.
WATER LEVELS AT OUR OTHER FISHERIES:

fast. This week we have moved our Fly-In Floating Cabin out to the Mid-North
area.
- Mid-South: (Igoapaçú Indian Reservation) Water
levels are still a bit high but should be good from Oct 15th
to Nov 30th.

Mid-North: (above the waterfalls of the Unini Preserve and South
Negro tributaries) Water levels
at the headwaters of some of these Negro tributaries are starting to be good.

Dec 15th.

Fishing on the Caures and especially in the Xeurini Preserve has been very good. In only 3 days, a total of 1787 fish were landed by 14 anglers, 80 of which were in the 10 - 16 lbs. class.
WATER LEVELS AT OUR OTHER FISHERIES:

South: (Marmelos Indian Reservation) Water levels are rising fast. We are now moving this Fly-In Floating Cabin to the Mid-North area.
- Mid-South: (Igoapaçú Indian Reservation) Water levels are still a bit high but should be good from Oct 15th to Nov 30th.

Mid-North: (above the waterfalls of the Unini Preserve and South
Negro tributaries) Water levels at the headwaters of some of these Negro tributaries are starting to be good. Water levels should be optimal from Oct 1st to Dec 15th.
- North: (North Negro tributaries) Water levels at all North Negro tributaries are surprisingly low and fishable which is normal for this time of the year. Water levels might rise but come down again from Dec 15 to Mar 15.

September 20th - September 22nd, 2009
Fishing in the Marmelos Indian Reservation has been average since it has rained substantially and in Homero Preserve it has been very good. In only 3 days, a total of 615 fish were landed by 16 anglers, 23 of which were in the 10 - 16 lbs. class and 2 in the 17-19 lbs. class.
WATER LEVELS AT OUR OTHER FISHERIES:

South: (Marmelos Indian Reservation) Water levels are good.
In the next two weeks we would have almost “fished out” this area.
We will be moving this Fly-In Floating Cabin to the North area.
- Mid-South: (Igoapaçú Indian Reservation) Water levels are
still a bit high but should be good from Oct 15th to Nov 30th.
