Peacock bass fishing has been good in terms of big fish. In only 2 1/2days, a total of 1808 peacock bass were landed by 40 anglers, 101 of which were in the 10 - 16 lbs. class, 8 in the 17-19 lbs. class, 8 in the 20-22 lbs. class, 1 in the 24 lbs. class and 1 in the 25 lbs. class.

Fishing at the Floating Cabins at the remote headwaters are all good (see the Caures in chart). The Black Water Explorer yacht fishing trip on the Negro Channel continues to be the best in 8 years although, not as good as last few weeks since, water levels are very low making navigation difficult to reach the good areas and there is lots of competition.
