| "Although
up to March 5th our only one party has fished
very well (430 fish in 3 days), I have real bad news
on last moments rain fall.

This is
the last ten day accumulated rain fall
(the white color means no rain and 25mm= 1”). It
shows perfect no rain weather in the State
of Roraima on the Rio Branco basin(North West
of the Amazon) where we have successfully mobilized all
our Fly In Floating Cabins early last month to
get away from the high water levels. (Click on image to

This picture shows substantial
rainfall on March 5th (just bellow Boa Vista ).
This is bad news since if the rain continues it
could raise water levels above the jungle line
and scatter the fish. (Click on image to

Odds are definitely not in
our favor; however if it stops now,
fishing should be ok by next week." - Luis

Despite the very few areas where water levels are adequate, fishing continues to be good. However, since there are only a few areas with good water levels, we have some competition. (The water levels at the mouth are high thus competing fast boats can reach the head waters. Also there has been lots of rain and water levels are rising a bit. Incoming guest should be informed of these two risks).
In only 3 days, a total of 2510 fish were landed by 45 anglers, 61 of which were in the 10 - 16 lbs. class, 8 were in the 17 – 19 lbs. class and 3 were in the 20 - 22 lbs. class.
WATER LEVELS:
* North-East: (Roraima State):
The Río Branco tributaries water levels in our exclusives on the Taperá, Xeurini and Omero headwaters are perfect, which is normal this time of the year. We are now fishing these areas.
* North: (Barcelo’s
area): Water levels at all Río Negro tributaries, except for the Araca/Demini, are high.
* Mid North: (above the waterfalls of our exclusive Unini Park):
Water levels are high, which is normal this time of the year.
* Mid South: (Indian Reserves: Igoapaçú, Matupiri,
Tupana, etc.): Water levels are high, which is normal this time of the year.
* South: (Marmelos Indian reserve): Water levels are high, which is normal this time of the year.

Fishing at the Fly In Floating Cabins continues to be good. The trade-offs between quantity and quality are apparent.
In only 3 days, a total of 2865 fish were landed by 40 anglers, 129 of which were in the 10 - 16 lbs. class, 5 were in the 17 – 19 lbs. class and 2 were 20 lbs.
WATER LEVELS:
* North-East: (Roraima State):
The Río Branco tributaries water levels in our exclusives on the Taperá, Xeurini and Omero headwaters are perfect, which is normal this time of the year. We are now fishing these areas.
* North: (Barcelo’s
area): Water levels at all Río Negro tributaries, except for the Araca/Demini, are slightly high but dropping fast.
* Mid North: (above the waterfalls of our exclusive Unini Park):
Water levels are high, which is normal this time of the year.
* Mid South: (Indian Reserves: Igoapaçú, Matupiri,
Tupana, etc.): Water levels are perfect; however we have had temporary problems in our Indian Reserve leases on all these rivers (leases are being renewed for next year).
* South: (Marmelos Indian reserve): Water levels are too low and we have “fished out” this area in July and August.
