PEACOCK BASS FISHING REPORTS

Listed bellow are the Mid-Week Fishing Reports as rushed by e-mail to our agents every Thursday in order that our week-end incoming guests may be duly informed before departure. As such, these reports are for only 3 days (instead of the full week).

Please note, these are true weights … sometimes in the Amazon the 17-19 lbs. class are considered 20 lbs. trophies…

Fishing at the Fly In Floating Cabins continues to be good. The trade-offs between quantity and quality are apparent.

In only 3 days, a total of 3005 fish were landed by 38 anglers, 139 of which were in the 10 - 16 lbs. class, 6 were in the 17 – 19 lbs. class, 2 were 20 lbs., 2 were 23 lbs. and 1 was 24 lbs.

* North-East: (Roraima State): The Río Branco tributaries water levels in our exclusives on the Taperá, Xeurini and Omero headwaters are perfect, which is normal this time of the year. We are now fishing these areas.
* North: (Barcelo’s area): Water levels at all Río Negro tributaries are slightly high. We have moved out of this area.
* Mid North: (above the waterfalls of our exclusive Unini Park): Water levels are high, which is normal this time of the year.
* Mid South: (Indian Reserves: Igoapaçú, Matupiri, Tupana, etc.): Water levels are perfect; however we have had temporary problems in our Indian Reserve leases on all these rivers (leases are being renewed for next year).
* South: (Marmelos Indian reserve): Water levels are too low and we have “fished out” this area in July and August
