  • Mid Río Negro tributaries (above the waterfalls of the Jaú, Carabinani, Unini, etc) Water levels are 5-6 feet too high, which is normal for this time of the year.  It has rained for the last two weeks and, water levels that were dropping have risen slightly.  We hope it should be fishable by mid of October, which is 1 weeks earlier than normal.  Therefore we're moving one of our Fly-In Cabin Barges to one of the rivers to the headwaters in this area.
  • Mid South (Igaopacu, Matupiri, etc)  This is where we are fishing with our Cabin Barges (at the headwaters) and Amazon Angel (at the mouth).  Water levels are fishable at the headwaters of these rivers which is normal  for this time of the year.
  • South (Roosevelt, Manicoré, Novo Aripuana, etc)  Water levels are perfect but rising which is normal for this time of the year.  We have already moved our Fly-In Cabin Barges out of this area.

WATER LEVELS:

  • North Rio Negro tributaries and Río Branco tributaries, as expected,  are high.  However, it has almost not rained the last two weeks and, water levels are dropping.  Water level should be fishable perhaps early November, which is 3 - 4 weeks earlier than normal.
  • Mid Río Negro tributaries (above the waterfalls of the Jaú, Carabinani, Unini, etc) Water levels are 2-3 feet too high, which is low for this time of the year.  It has almost not rained the last two weeks and, water levels are dropping.  We hope it should be fishable by the begining of October, which is 3 - 4 weeks earlier than normal.
  • Mid South (Igaopacu, Matupiri, etc)  This is where we will be fishing.  Water levels are already almost fishable at the headwaters of these rivers which is 3 - 4 weeks ahead of schedule.  Therefore we're moving one of our Fly-In Cabin Barges to the headwaters of the Matupiri River.
