River. During the week 784
peacocks were caught from the Fly-In Cabin

* Mid North (above the waterfalls of the Jaú,
Carabinani, Uinini, etc)
Despite last week's 30 - 40" rain water levels
have dropped just above the

peacocks were caught from both Fly-In
Cabin Barges by 12 anglers; 20 fish were in the 13

average per boat might appear low; however quantity
of fish caught is good
considering one set of Fly-In
Cabin Barges had no anglers
during half the
week) Skillful top-water baitcasters were catching
28 - 35 fish/boat/day
and fly-fishermen 35 - 45 fish/boat/day.

on the northern tributaries of the Río Negro
in the Barcelos area.

35 fish/boat/day and fly-fishermen 35 - 45 fish/boat/day.
WATER LEVELS:
* North (Barecelos area) Water levels
are still 2 - 3 feet too high but continue dropping
nicely 2 - 3"/day on the Río Negro. During
the week it rained very little (2 - 5") in the southern
tributaries and almost nothing in the northen tributaries. We
continue to wait another 10 days before making a decision
if we should be moving to this area our Fly In Cabin
Barges and Amazon

* Mid North (above the waterfalls of the
Jaú, Carabinani, Uinini, etc) The water
levels are lower than the Barecelos area; however,
it rained 2 - 4" this week and water leves are barely
dropping. We have our 3rd. set of Fly In Cabin
Barges in this area on "stand-by"; however, it will
not be fishable for at least 7 days. They should
drop another 2 feet for good fishing.
* Mid South (Igaopacu, Matupiri, etc) Water
levels are very fishable and although it rained 1 -
2" during the week, levels are starting to rise slightly. We
should be fishing in this area at least during the

* South (Manicoré, Marmelos, etc) Water
levels, which were perfect during June - September,
are almost unfishably high which is normal for this
time of the year.
